Wonderful place to stay!
Sarah, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Simple room, super clean, with nice breakfast and super helpful staff, all within ready walking distance of Lake Wanaka
TONY, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The room was clean and comfortable. However not having tea making facilities and having to go down to the dining room to make cup of tea was inconvenient. For what we got it was way overpriced. Maybe at a push $150.. per night not $212.00. I guess these are Wanaka prices!!!!

Great breakfast and excellent location. Room rather dated

The main point was how helpful Alice was beforehand. I had to change the booking but couldnt with Expedia and Alice did it all and responded within minutes to all my emails. Great service. The place is great and lots of little thoughtful things to make a great stay. My only advice would be to ask for a room away from the road. The lorries start early.

Very nice place
The lodge was clost to the shops restaurants, and bars within an easy 5 minute walk (or ten minute stagger back!😃). We both found the bed a little uncomfortable, and our sky TV remote didnt work properly. 1st world problems i know. Overall though, the place was very good, with helpful staff, comfortable lounge areas, a lovely private spa pool which could be booked. Breakfast was really good, with a variey of cereals, stewd fruits, copious amounts of coffee and a cooked breakfast as well on top of that. I would defintley recommend this place to visitors

6/10 Good

We arrived and were told our room wasn't available due to a problem. The person said we should have been told - we had heard nothing. We'd have cancelled if we had known in advance. We were moved into an apartment some way away from the hotel. The apartment was huge, and an upgrade on our room type for sure, but a long way from town with my 79 year old mother. It also meant that we had to drive to the hotel for breakfast in the morning, which wasn't particularly convenient. Breakfast was below par, limited in choice, things not topped up, and seemed a bit chaotic. You can have the one thing that they want to cook, but nothing else.

Friendly central motel
Lovely motel in the centre of Wanaka. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice outdoor areas and hot tub. Has own parking. Would stay again.
Frances Miriam, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The room was immaculate. The bed, so comfortable, the shower water pressure was brilliant, the cooked breakfast was beautifully presented and totally delicious. The staff were so accommodating allowing us to use their kitchen for filling hotwater bottles, and making flasks, (to take along to our daughters gym competition as the facility had no heating). I would definitely stay there again.

Te Wanaka Lodge was a comfortable and good value place to stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. An excellent breakfast was provided and this time was spent with others exchanging thoughts and ideas about our individual journeys. Highly recommended.

Rustic. Delicious Breakfast. Central to Downtown.
👍 Like my review! We had a 2 night stay at "Te Wanaka Lodge" in Wanaka, New Zealand as part of our journey across the country. We chose the location because it was close to downtown, the lakeshore, eateries (including tons of food trucks), and even an awesome cinema. The checkin process could be improved since parking was difficult but earlier communication of a nearby public parking would be helpful. Nevertheless, the staff were lovely and kind showing us several of the rustic common areas (including a hot tub); then we settled into our room. Our room #2 had comfortable twin-sized beds and pillows, communal patio, desk with chair, accessible bathroom with key amenities (conditioning shampoo, body wash, hand soap, heated towel rack, ventilation, heating lamp, hair dryer), several outlets, television, iron and ironing board, and closet space. Since there's no private fridge, there's a communal fridge that is first come first served. There is also a washer and dryer on site for a fee. The internet can be slow at peak times but sufficient for email and navigation. The highlight was the delicious breakfast (included for a fee) where we had eggs Benedict with bacon on toast the first morning and scrambled eggs with bacon the second morning alongside a spread of bread, jams, peanut butter, museli (granola), yogurt, tea, and coffee! There was fruit in the afternoon along with coffee and tea. We would consider staying here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Simple accommodation, convenient and clean. No kitchen and no access to laundry, but there was a fridge and hot water, so we didn't really need these services during our brief stay.
