Great place to stay in the city of San Pedro
Came in to visit my sister and loved the convenience of this Hotel to her apartment. Everyone was so nice from the front desk to the room service to all the folks in the kitchen and behind the bar at Margies. We asked the front desk to recommend a private (just 3 people) tour and she got us exactly what we asked for (see review of Blue Dreams Adventures on Trip Adviser) at a great rate. The tour operators picked us up right at the hotel dock the next morning and delivered us safe and sound back to our hotel dock 9 hours later. It was awesome. I really appreciated the friendliness of all of the Belizean people it felt so genuine.

Good stay for a budget but lots of walking
It was a good cheap place to stay but it was pretty far from the ferry dock which had a lot more to do (food, night life, activities). If you’re on a budget and would walk 15-20 mins down to the ferry a couple of times a day I’d say go for it. There’s no sidewalk though and people drive pretty crazy there lol. It was a good experience but I probably would book near downtown if I went again. Hotel was old but staff was very nice.

Charming hotel on the water
A very charming hotel on the water. Very clean comfortable room and an incredible staff. The bar reminds my of a “cheers” bar with a great blend of guests and locals. The food in Margie’s kitchen is fantastic and Mr Frank is the caretaker and horseshoe instructor and a great guy. The room price is a great value and the hotel is located close to all the local activities. Just a great place to stay all around.

A little tired, fair location, good value
Property is a "little tired" and location is an inconvenient walk from town, BUT unlike many properties, it is still walkable in under 10 minutes to the center of town, and golf cart rentals are both on-property and across the street. Free breakfast is very basic, a scrambled egg, pre-portioned pieces of fresh fruit, and ample supply of yummy breads to toast and coffee, but while modest, it IS free. Heartier choices are offered for $12-20 USD a few properties away. Lively bar guests. Very friendly and very helpful front desk. Good A/C. Hot water for shower always available. (Don't assume this is a given in Belize). The only "negative" about the location of the property is the lack of any beach due to the thick sea weed beds, from which emanate a rotten odor that sometimes permeates through to the guest rooms. (Running the A/C usually dispels the odor). This seaweed and odor problem is not at all unique to the Corona. I took a day and a golf cart and traveled first the very south end of the island, then northward past all the high end resorts through the jungle mangrove groves half way to the Mexican border, and seaweed and littered beaches seem to extend the entire coast of Ambergris Caye - it is a by product of its unique location at the western end of the Caribbean Sea just past the great reef. I saw only a few resort properties that were somewhat free of the seaweed and where roped off areas of the beach were suitable for wading. Overall Corona is a good value choice
