Hotel was overbooked, we were almost left outside
I arrived at 9.00 pm. My key was supposed to be in a box and indeed it was there. I opened the room's door and to my surprise there was a young couple in the bed (luckily they were busy each one with their social media :-). They showed me the key the had and it was of the same room! I had to call the receptionist who was sleeping. He came after 10 minutes and it took him another 20 min. to give me another room. The room was good but the overall experience stressful as it was night, we were tired and no one was there to help initially.

Check your email for after hours checkin
We didn’t actually manage to stay, but it was still a positive experience. After a few weeks in our camper van, we parked by the Otago Museum and decided to stick around for the night. We made the reservation and went off into Dunedin. We lost track of time and missed the 9 PM check in. We ended up driving to a holiday park, where I realized they’d emailed me with instructions to find a key at 8 PM. They were quick and responsive, it was my fault we didn’t manage to stay. It looked great from the outside and was in a great location.

Great location but looking run down
Stayed here 5 years ago and looks like nothing's been done to the place since, The beds are desperately in need of replacing and the decor is very run down. However staff were all very friendly and the location is close to all the bars and restaurants

Cozy to stay
Our room was right beside the front door so was handy to get out/in from the personal sliding door. Town centre was a bit far but walkable.
