Highly recommend
Was a comfortable stay. Great location to the city, food and public transport. Parking in fort street was a couple minutes walk and convenient. Clean and tidy. Balcony was great. Sofa bed was made up ready for the kid, very helpful.

Loud and soulless rooms
We were disappointed with the accommodation and did not enjoy our stay. Noise is a huge issue in this hotel which has absolutely no insulation or noise dampening whatsoever. You can hear people snore, sneeze, cough speak etc through walls. The building is a mix of residential and hotel and we had a very loud family above us who the hotel could do nothing about When we asked about moving rooms the receptionist said “the other rooms are even worse” … Secondly the room was nothing like the room in the pictures: everything was old, worn and very poorly laid out. No decorations or any attempt to make it a nice space. The kitchenette was the main reason we booked but barely used in the end because it was so poorly equipped; a grand total of 3 knives, forks, spoons plates etc , one large bowl only, tiny frying pan, no hand soap no kitchen towel or oil nothing to clean with after cooking

Very clean and neat room, everything worked and more than sufficient supplies provided i.e. coffee etc. Comfortable bed. Only issue is the nearby club which was quite noisy.

8/10 Very good

Older style property with traditional key entry which was a nice change. Well appointed and comfortable bed. Was a bit noisy at night as I could hear music from a nightclub and when the person in the room next to mine came home at midnight it sounded like someone was coming in to my apartment which was a little alarming.

2/10 Poor

Will never stay here again even if you paid me! I’ll start with the minor issues and end with the deal breaker. We turned up and there was no bed for our son. Not wanting to ruin our vacation and try and find another hotel we settled for him curled up on the couch. Quest gave us some linen. Don’t assume putting two adults and a 8yr old child into wot ifs search will mean you have the correct amount of beds. Although it is in a handy location unfortunately there is a night club that goes until 3am. Some noise is to be expected however even at 10 floors up it sounds like the DJ is in the room with you. Finally not all of the apartments are owned by quest. I was awoken to two people fighting. Swearing, yelling and slamming doors. I could not get hold of anyone from quest to sort it. Ringing reception went straight to an answer phone. When the fight turned violent with what I felt was people being pushed against the walls etc we rang the police. Whilst in the phone to the police a person was thrown or pushed through a window taking the whole window and aluminium frame out of the wall. Our son was terrified. Still couldn’t get hold of quest. The police then rang my husband to come down and let them into the building. In the morning there was blood in the lift and the receptionist had no idea what had happened. We complained that we should have had someone answer and we shouldn’t have been the person letting police in etc. They refunded 1 night. Beware!

Delivered On Everything
The hotel is downtown on Queen Street. It is self catering. Everything worked. Smart TV, a big plus. Right by the harbor, close to the Skytower. No issues with check in, check out. Staff was friendly. Easy access to hotel. Any negative, like loud noise, was not their fault. Near supermarkets and many eateries.

The space in this property was very comforting for time I stayed and the environment surrounding it was very entertaining. Always out of the building exploring the city, it’s very relaxing coming to an amazing room after a long day.

6/10 Good

There’s only one set of key. Even though I requested for two sets as my husband and I needed to do different things separately, we could only have one more key for the door of the room. No extra tag for the main entrance and the lift, there was no use for that extra room key. And when we checked out, we happened to have some data issue with our unlimited data plan of our phones. We just hoped to get the Wi-Fi to book an Uber to go to the airport, but the reception just said no Wi-Fi on the ground floor. That’s it! No more help. Didn’t care at all. Finally we got help from other tenant who shared us hotspot for us to call an Uber; otherwise we didn’t know how to go through this dilemma. Thanks that gentleman very much

Nice serviced apartment/hotel
We stayed for 3 nights at the Quest. It was in a great location close to the waterfront (cruise port). We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was clean and comfortable. It had a washer/dryer and a small kitchen. The balcony area was nice for sitting outside.

6/10 Good

We paid a high rate to stay because we were keen on the advertised quality balcony views of the harbour to unwind and relax. Our outlook was the side of an old building next door and across the road into the windows of an office block. The shower head needs repairing! The bed was comfortable, and the free internet was fast being the high points. Overall, we were not impressed for the high price. We should have stayed the extra two nights at the property in Grey Lynn that was excellent.
