We felt like welcome guests as soon as we arrived. The hosts, Robert & Karen, are a delight and were very informative about the surroundings. We were shown two rooms and chose the extra special upstairs bedroom which felt more like an apartment which made leaving the house to go exploring very difficult. If you need to relax and regenerate your energy levels, put this property on your list! We have!... we will be returning!!

Exceptional accommodation and hospitality
We loved our stay at the Flying Trout Boutique Lodge. The facilities are great, with large rooms, spa pool, tennis court and billiards room. The property also offers some breathtaking views of Lake Taupo. The setting is peaceful and relaxing, but close enough to Taupo to enjoy the tourist activities, restaurants and bars. What sets the Flying Trout apart is the fantastic hospitality offered by Linaire and Rob. They were so welcoming and just couldn't do enough for us during our stay. We highly recommend the Flying Trout and its wonderful owners.
