    The Reef 28

    Overall, this property was very good, the only problem was the check-in process was very delayed due to poor staffing at front desk. It took us about 45 minutes to check in. The manager should have made an attempt to help to speed up the process.

    Beware of the “Not all inclusive”

    Not everything is included when it comes to Food and drinks so if you plan an extended stay (more than 5 days) then you should be prepared to repeat food options on the all inclusive plan. The wine under the plan is also awful ! Restaurants rotate so not all restaurant options are open daily. Breakfast is good but they serve always the same items so it gets boring after a couple of days.

    NO GUEST ALLOWED IN YOUR ROOM

    I recently stayed at Reef 28 hotel I invited a girlfriend over for a pool day and paid 400 pesos for her wristband. When she was leaving she had to pick up her belongings from my room. Several security guards came to my room within a minute of entering the room. One of them put his foot in the door and demanded that my friend leave immediately and told me he was calling the police. My friend wanted to change out of her wet suit but was not able to because I could not shut the door and this man was yelling at me. I’ve never been treated so rudely and all my world travels. I will never stay there again. I tried to rectify the situation with the manager who only quoted me policy. I’m a 50-year-old man I don’t like being treated like an irresponsible teenager!!!! PS There was a fistfight at the rooftop pool and the hotel guest broke it up and security didn’t even come....lovely:(

    Really nice place with an amazing pool bar rooftop, room have a good size, comfortable. We just had a minor issue with cleaning the room, we needed to call several times to get it clean but was solved at the end. Also the location is perfect, very central (close to 5th avenue ) and the beach

    This place in my opinion is the best hotel in Playa del Carmen. The room was spacious and comfortable, the location was amazing close to everything (we walked everywhere) and the rooftop was beautiful and fun.
