We enjoyed the Oceanview room we had. Didn't realize it was 4 flights up but it was good exercise Celebrated our 35th Wedding anniversary.

Nice Stay
This was a peaceful stay with a great view! I chose an ocean view room which required the highest floor. The only complaint was no elevator, but its an island. The climb was not bad at all. I would definitely stay again.

Great hotel in Great Location!
Overall it was a wonderful stay and everyone was friendly from the moment we checked in to when we left. My only advice is to get better pillows, they were not the most comfortable. Other than that, we had a blast!

The hotel is in a great location, the center of it all. I reserved 2 rooms for one night. However, for the price you’re paying, you definitely expect more. The hotel is so outdated and needs a major renovation. The carpet all throughout the hotel is so aged and dirty. Upon entering our room we could tell housekeeping was most likely just there as the smell of the vacuum and dust was still lingering in the air. We had to air out our room to be able to withstand it. The old vacuum was also left right in front of our door the whole time. The rooms itself are not like the photos. The dirty carpet leaves this musty scent in the room. Everything is just so old and rusty. The lamp shades on the two nightstands had so many stains on it. The small refrigerator was in a small square cut out filled with rust. We didn’t even want to touch it. I read prior reviews which all stated very similar things. Will not be staying here again.

Room with 2 beds was bunk beds for senior women. Room is only about 20’x7’. Bunk bed ladder installed upside down and dangerous to use. Bathroom door does not close so little privacy.

Filthy old carpets in halls, uncomfortable beds and pillows. Hotel washing machine across frrom our room was broken and being replaced while we were there. All the bags of laundry were stacked outside our room on 2nd floor. No elevator. No view from room. No breakfast. $260 night. Never again!!!

Hotels.com was supposed to get back to me after I contacted them to cancel the second night of our reservation well before the 72 hour cancelation window. I never heard back form a manager when this was escalated. the staff at the hotel were not helpful when i called and pushed me back to Hotels.com to resolve the issue. when we arrived ot check in we tried to cancel the second night and the staff said they couldn't without manager approval, and then stated their manager was on vacation. No staff ever followed up with us as they said they would. we ended up paying for the two night and i was disappointed with the hotel, the rooms were not nice and the maids didn't fill the shampoo, conditioner and body soap containers at check in, as well as when they turned our room down.

The staff are really nice, friendly and helpful. The hotel is located at the end of the main Avalon promenade, close to restaurants, shops, the museum, the beach etc. But just off the main drag, so quieter than the ocean facing locations. NOTE: THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS ON THIS PROPERTY. There are 4 floors. They get booked up, so if you can't navigate stairs, it's not an option to expect them to change your room to a low level floor when you arrive. The rooms are small, but adequate and clean and a step above your average Motel6. It's not a luxury experience, but it's a great hotel if your plans don't involve hanging out in your room all day.
