Pros: Very clean and well-appointed hotel. Bed and linens very comfortable. Staff was excellent and very polite—especially housekeeping. They did a tremendous job. David in the bar was wonderful. Our room was beautiful and spacious, although not what we originally booked. Hotel restaurant was excellent.
Cons: Room originally booked was described as having a city view and featured a picture of a woman sitting on a window seat and looking out at an unobstructed blue sky. Many rooms, although described as “city view” do NOT have a city view. Our room looked nothing like what I had expected and the window faced another building. Standard rooms are quite small. We upgraded to a suite, which was beautiful and more in line with expectations (frankly it way surpassed them.) The hotel was under construction and the bar/restaurant is not directly connected to the hotel and there is no washroom available. The surrounding area has a real homeless problem, which I know isn’t the fault of the hotel, but it’s disturbing. However the hotel is close to excellent bars, restaurants, and historic locations.
