Would stay again, but not in the summer!
When we arrived we were told we'd been upgraded to a suite, which was a lovely surprise (The Sefton, room 5). What a gorgeous room! Charming character with views to the cathedral. Room was large with plenty of storage. Downsides were spiral staircase and room was very warm, so wouldn't recommend for a summer stay! We had to have the windows open, which then meant you got all the traffic noise and people leaving clubs and pubs. There is no aircon. The bed was super comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Came back at 10.50. We had one drink which we sat in the lounge area all rather lonely, so decided to pop next door to another establishment for a bit more cheer

Lovely historic hotel in a great location near the cathedral and near the city centre and shops . The food was great and the staff were very helpful. Our only criticism is that the car charger was like a three pin plug and therefore it was only useful for a 40/50 mile top up at night . Overall we had a great time and were pleased we chose the hotel .

2 night trip to Norwich
Lovely staff, professional & extremely helpful going the extra mile, location was great as was the hotel overall. Lots of lounge areas and lovely food. The only 2 thing's I’d score down on were the hospitality knocking twice from 10 am until 11.30 both days, even though we had do not disturb on the door and requested a mid day checkout. I realise the building is very old but the smell of sewer was evident in every part of the building especially the toilets, & even in the restaurant. There was actually water running down the wall where we were sitting which we bought to the staffs attention and there was a maintenance man there within 10 minutes. Despite this I would book again if I visit Norwich.

Absolutely perfect location right by the cathedral and a short walk to sites and restaurants all around Norwich. The Maids Head is a very classy, old school hotel that is clearly proud of its history and tradition.
