Rooms are a little smaller than normal but modern, good fittings and clean. Bedding is super comfortable. I didn't get any noise transferred from other rooms, individual aircon that worked fine and quiet. Can't ask for more than that.

Great value but fire alarm issue needs addressing
We mostly stay here when in Townsville as we love the location on Palmer street, which is a fairly short walk to the stadium and Cowboys Leagues Club. It is well-priced for such comfortable clean rooms. However, we were woken at 1:30am to loud fire alarm and evacuation announcement. This is the 2nd time this is happened whilst staying there but the first false alarm was morning so it didn’t interrupt our sleep like this one.

The Palmer is on a hip block of restaurants and shops, so it’s easy to find somewhere to eat. The restaurant in the hotel is quite good and pretty popular with locals, not just hotel guests. My only gripe is that the rooms are quite small with one small window. Otherwise, the staff and cleanliness are top notch.

The hotel and staff were great, clean, friendly and quiet. Only small down side was the pool was out of action, which would have been nice to know ahead of time and there is a construction happening next door, which affected carpaking on site. restaurant was amazing, great food and perfect location. I will come back and hopefully the pool will be open.
