We stayed in the top floor and although the stairs were STEEP to the 3rd floor (almost ladderlike) it was worth it! STUNNING VIEWS from 2 different balconies. Great bathroom. Comfy bed. Even a fireplace in the room!

Nice rooms in a charming house. Clean and private. Backyard seating and lighting is nice to have a glass of wine and enjoy Santa Barbara.

Lovely property with charming courtyard. Clean room, comfortable bed - stocked with everything we could need. Easy walk to downtown. Safe and peaceful. The key code took a minute to figure out, but then was super convenient. We would be very happy to stay here again!

This place is like the vending machine of hotel stays. It’s completely unmanned 24 hours a day. So, to access your room, you have to go through a cumbersome process of receiving room codes, and they don’t always work. A ghost hotel.

Property misrepresented the room. Small and worn out. Needs some tlc. Location saved this from a two star review. Walking distance to heart of town.

Deep Gratitude for awesome hospitality. Brighton suit - the only available at the time of reservation - was actually perfect match for my taste and i enjoyed pouring rain at night with scents of blooming plants coming into the room... Thank you for accommodating my requests! I had amazing practice of yoga in the garden... BLESSINGS OF LOVE AND HEALTH TO ALL :)

Such a lovely place, Property is beautiful, great location for walking everywhere and we had so much fun renting e-bikes and cruising around. My only complaint would be that guys were working at 7am going in and out of gate really loud right outside our room and we were sleeping in for once. :) But that being said, I would go back again for sure. Loved it.

The place is nice and automatic check in was easy. Our room (the penthouse) had a strange smell. Not sure if it was because of the rains recently or what but we could not get rid of it. Also the shower temp could not be adjusted. It was full hot at all times.
Overall it was a nice stay though.

We didn't realize that we would need to use a cell phone for entrance to the property and the room. It was ok, once we got used to it, but we prefer the interaction with staff. The room was pretty small for 2 people and the bathroom was tiny, but it is an older home and beautifully appointed...I realize that is what you get for a property of this era. In our 2 night stay, we saw a house cleaner once; and no other guests or staff.

There should be a way to communicate before you book, that there will not be a person at the Inn to receive you. Instead, you will get a text with a code to the front door and directions to your room. It gives the feel of renting a room in someone's house instead of being a guest at a professional inn. It lacked a warmth that I was expecting for the price. When booking, I requested a late check out and the Inn did not respond with an answer. The cleaning crew was there Sunday morning, which was good because I used the last clean mug for coffee.
My room was comfortable and clean.

The location was very nice and the person in charge responded very quickly when we couldn't get access to the space upon arrival. We also got a late checkout by an hour which was nice.
The building is very old and there were some definite updates needed in our space such as an entry light that didn't consistently work so we had to feel our way through the passageway to our room and where the floors and walls meet was in need of repair and very dusty. There was also no access to breakfast as stated on Expedia.

We pre-paid $1,400, and then we learned of the flooding and constant rain. Since we were flying in from the Midwest, the thought of getting mired in mud made us unhappy. We wanted to get a chance to stay here at a later date, but they refused to work with us. The airline refunded our money due to weather conditions, but not this place. I heard it rained a lot that week. Very poor judgment on the part of De La Vina, as we will never go there, although we travel to Santa Barbara frequently.
