Safe and Secure is The Allure
The Allure Hotel is geographically perfectly placed in South Townsville as it’s within walking distance to the food and shopping precinct in Palmer Street and the City Very safe and secure with off street parking available. Easy check in and the staff are flexible, helpful and friendly. They are very proud to be working in this Hotel. There is a fabulous cafe in the complex that serves the freshest and delicious food and coffee. Opened about 6 hours a day which is ideal. I was fortunate to have a room on the 8th floor and the view was ever changing with the highlight being the new Cowboys Bank Stadium that often at night was lit up purple. Absolutely stunning for The Stadium encapsulates the horizon. Safety is a priority in this complex and with the swipe cards for access , security was ensured Room very comfortable, clean and met our needs. Loved the separate lifts for each section and they were quiet and fast. Totally recommend The Allure for a secure and safe place to stay in wonderful Townsville.

I couldn't check in, I was sent no information, the app gave me no option and no one answered the emergency phone so I had to spend an extra $60 booking somewhere else at midnight after trying to get in for over an hour. I've been refunded and they've apologised but it wasn't a great experience for my daughter and I.

My room was clean but it was odd that it had a sort of self catering feel with cutlery and plates but no cooking facilities. The room wasn’t serviced due to covid times? And if I had used plates etc, I’d have to wash them in the bathroom sink. Reception only opened 9-5 and cafe opened limited hours and not every day. It was a mix of hotel and apartments but it’s like it couldn’t make up its mind and therefore didn’t really cater for either needs! It was fine but odd!

Bit of good and bit of could-be-improved
The service I received initially was exceptional! I wanted to check in early and they made every possible accommodation for me and specially cleaned a room for me to get into as soon as possible. The staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful and hospitable. The bed however was not very comfortable. It was probably quite old and needs either a topper or to be replaced. The room was not serviced at all. A service/freshen would have been appreciated even if it was only every three days. After an 8-day stay it felt quite stuffy. The location was fantastic! I walked into the city most days. Restaurants, pubs and eating places were sooo convenient!
