Great stay

We stayed for one night as were in London for a show. Hotel prices in London are very pricey so when i found this "Compact" room for the price i was happy to book and in a very easy to get to location. The room was compact but they did what they could with the space and the bathroom was clean and modern with lovely hand wash and clean towels.

Would stay again!

We had a great 3 night stay at the Ellen! The front desk staff, breakfast staff and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and had many amenities. We do wish there had been a luggage rack in the room. (But I’m sure one would have been brought to us if I had asked : ) The breakfast and the breakfast space were fantastic!! This hotel and it’s location checked all the boxes for us.

Great hotel but room not the best

The Hotel and bar/restaurant area is great but the room is just a strange set up and weird cupboards where you don’t need them. The fridge light couldn’t be properly blocked out as cupboard was see through.

Great place to stay when in London

Very nice hotel and I could definitely come back when visiting London next time. Quite small room, but very comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning and nice bathroom with large quality towels. We stayed for 3 quiet nights in the 3rd floor and had good night sleep each night. The breakfast was included to our price and it was adequate and satisfactory. Nothing to complain about it (except the coffee which is a disappointment everywhere in UK)! The hotel’s location is very good. Short walk to the nearest underground station (Earl’s Court) and a very convenient transfer from the Heathrow airport (Piccadilly line). The only thing I would fix immediately is the small and extremely slow elevator! It’s actually quite scary experience, but we managed.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The room was small, but immaculate. The diffuser in the lobby smelled marvelous. We were close to shopping, restaurants, and pubs. We highly recommend the Ellen Kensington Hotel.

Opened for business 6 months ago. Some have given mediocre reviews but this is 5 star hotel. Not Claridges or the Dorchester but the rooms are superb in their quality. Fabulous breakfast. One lift was not operational which caused some guests distress. Would definitely stay here again.

The receptionist tried to charge us again for a room I had already paid for. She then told me that breakfast was not included, it was. We checked in at 2.35pm and were told the room was not ready until 3pm. We were told to go away and come back later. we were then given a room in he basement which smelt of damp. We wont be going back to this hotel.

We had a long stay — 13 nights — and loved the whole experience. The location is great. The hotel is a very short walk from the Earls court tube station — direct access to the District Line and the Piccadilly line from Heathrow — and a longer but doable walk to the Victoria & Albert, Design, and Natural History Museums as well as Holland Park. Our room was small, but cleverly designed to make best use of all available space. Big windows overlooking a garden square let in lots of light and gave a feeling of living among treetops. The bed was comfortable. Everything was immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant offers an upscale Asian-inspired menu, and the surrounding neighborhood offers an abundance of small-scale local restaurants offering Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Lebanese cuisines, as well as traditional English pub food. It is true that the elevator is slow and the room could use a full length mirror (maybe hung on the outside of the bathroom door), but these observations don’t at all rise to the level of complaints. All in all, we enjoyed The Ellen very much and hope to return for another visit before too long.
Lee, 13-night trip

The rooms are small not good for family but good for couples. Beware that this is new hotel a lot of amenities are not properly installed yet. The bathroom with bathtub has really awkward glass door, can't open and can't get in, once you get in you will find hard time to get out. Overall nice, new, perfect location, quiet, staffs are friendly.

Will not stay here again

This is not a five-star hotel as it claims to be. I was greeted by a step ladder used for renovations right outside my room, which I had to move myself just to get through. Debris was left uncleared outside the door. The door wasn't closed properly, which made me feel a little uncomfortable. The room smelled strongly of fresh paint, and there were moths everywhere - I had to kill quite a few myself. There was no garbage bin, no hairdryer, and no hangers provided. When I requested a room change, I was told none were available, but I was offered a complimentary dinner instead, which I appreciated. To be honest, the restaurant and its staff earned this place a second star; otherwise, it would’ve been a one-star review. Housekeeping didn’t seem to do much beyond replacing towels and emptying the trash. Tea bags weren’t replenished, and the room just didn’t feel clean overall. The only real highlight was the location - very close to Earl’s Court on the Piccadilly Line.

TV did not work; I mentioned to staff, and they said it was an IT issue. The room was too hot, and no one checked it. The lift is not working... going to the fourth floor is an adventure. Not good. Friendly staff
Cesar, 3-night trip

Ellen Kensignton is brand new, beautiful and spotless clean. The location is also great and reception staff were nice! There were 2 negative points though: the room was too small (it's ok for 1 person but small for 2). When you book in hotrels.com it doesn't say the size (in sq metres), only that there is a kind bed. The photos in hotels.com platform were photos of obviously bigger rooms (but in the category that I chose to book). The 2nd point is that the FIRE ALARM goes off every time a guest has a very hot shower. This needs to be sorted, because not only it scares people, but also one wants to be able to sleep in on the weekend, right? I stayed in the hotel from Thu evening til Sunday afternoon and it happened 3 times (including at 7am on Friday and 8am on Sunday).
