Hotels like this should not be allowed to run!
By far worst hotel in Birmingham and i travel there regularly! Poor welcome. Winding stairs, never ending maze-like corridors; a real safety hazard! Not for clients with suitcases. No lift! Filthy dingy room No heating No toiletries Filthy bath Poor lighting No duvets or extra blankets. Thin walls....etc Do not go there on your own or with anyone. Do not go fullstop! Unless you want to experience rock bottom for the hell of it!

Absolute nightmare
We arrived at the 'hotel after driving for nearly 4 hours to be greeted by the man on reception who was not welcoming and proceeded to ask us if we wanted to check the room before we paid?! Me and my mum both said no as how bad could it be we only needed a base for the night. We paid and then went to find the room which just went on and on through doors down corridoors etc I couldn't believe it. The smell and overall state of the hotel started to worry us. Finally opening the door to our room right at the back of this building I couldn't believe it i knew straught away i couldn'tstay there. The bed when I pulled back the covers was filthy the heating was on sky high the bathroom was falling apart. Broken windows no lock on the door neither of us felt safe. We ended up paying out for a Travelodge. I wish I had taken photos but will be reporting this to trading standards and the council for health and safety. Never seen anything like it was like a horror film. I've since been informed it's used by the local prostitutes. Expedia should not be advertising this hotel!

This is not an hotel and expedia should not recommend this place. It was vile the hotel needs knocking down. If I hadn't pressure paid for my room I would never of stayed there. An absolute disgrace.

Hell hole
We ended up staying here 2 nights & it's the worst experience I've ever had. It ruined our holiday completely. It was filthy dirty, the safety chains on the doors were missing, there were holes in walls, damp, doors that could be accessed from the other side bit no idea where they lead to, bags of rubbish busted outside the door........I could go on! It was somewhere between a crack den & a brothel. It made me fear for my life. 5 woman in 1 room & we still didnt feel too safe. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The "Worst Inn", the hotel from hell!
I put a note on my reservation, advising I'm partially sighted & needed some basic help. I was coming from far & I was late, &I rang the hotel to advise I was going to arrive late & not to give my room away, even though I paid in advance. I arrived at 7pm, very late but with plenty of time to drop my bags & reach the venue on time for the start of a concert very dear to me. I got the 1st scare at the reception when I was told me there was no reservation for me, but there was 1 when I rang earlier! So I gave the printed copy of my reservation & finally I was given the key to my room. I was very agitated by then & made my way to my room via never ending floors, set of stairs & dark long corridors, the carpet in filthy condition that disgusted me even by walking with my shoes on. It looked like the carpet hadn't been hoovered for days & not washed for years, the floor tiles had sellotape on. I opened the room & it was still uncleaned with dirty bedlinen, the bed undone & McDonald cups on the table. The check out is at 11am, at 7PM, my room was still in that state! I went back to the reception, taking the case with me thru all that maze of stairs & floors really angry. I got a 2nd room: wallpaper coming off the wall, 1 square of the glass on the window broken & replaced by plastic sellotaped on the window & 1 side of it would not close as the lock was missing! I was furious, the guy said it was a budget hotel...I got a 3rd room, by then I was so late I missed 3

Disgusting
I get it is a budget hotel? But, my goodness...... our room was terrible. A thin sheet which they call a duvet? And there was no light bulb in the bathroom. Was using the bathroom in the dark?! Told the man at reception .... he was not remotely bothered. So rude. Disgusting. Never again. That place is falling apart!

Room to stay if budget is the main sticking point
I would not recommend this place for any other reason. It is strictly a budget hotel. Do not stay here unless your expectations are basic. Having said that it is manned at reception and the staff are helpful. The place does need a refit but that would add to the cost of a room. I'd prefer it as is.

4/10 Fair

hard hote
Hotel needs complete refurb. Room was tired with wallpaper pealing, curtains and rail damaged. Broken window, open window not close properly. Toilet not flush properly without persuasion. Unbelievably hot room, couldn't turn down the radiators. Yet, room was very clean, bedclothes crisp and clean, bed reasonably comfortable. Hotel was incredibly noisy. Other business(es) are run from the site and there is a constant slamming of doors, shouting and general inappropriate behaviour for a hotel. It was £30.00 for the night for two. I guess that is why.

Horrible and unattentive
I arrived. The chap at reception arrived 15 minutes later, then took a phone call. After 30 mins of being at reception I was given my key and went on a treasure hunt up, down and around corners for my room following some random paper signs. Building is run down and dirty. My room smelt of damp, stains on the carpet, it was disgusting. Bed was too small for a double room. Bathroom is just unclean. Had I not arrived at 9pm and been exhausted I would have gone elsewhere!

Totally unfit.
Just need to say the bucket outside our room catching the rainwater was enough to turn around and leave, but we did look on our room and it was a disgrace.

Not the Best Birmingham hotel
Terrible. I know it was cheap but still! Rooms were up 100s of stairs, my daughter has a disability and there was no lift. The first room we were given the lights didn’t work so they changed the room- no apology. Both rooms were dated, tatty, in need of a complete revamp. Cracked tiles, ripped wallpaper, poor condition carpets etc etc. The bed sheets smelled of cooking oil. One bedroom smelled of cigarettes. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. Staff were not rude, but uninterested. I had driven for 3 hours and was told to wait before I could check in because he was doing something on the computer! Would not go there again

Worst hotel I’ve stayed in
To be fair the hotel is cheap but I wouldn’t stay here again if it was free. Saying it’s run down is a serious under statement. What little furniture is in the room looks like it been reclaimed from a tip. The bath panel is wood or hardboard and is swollen to the point you can see in underneath the bath. There are spiders that appear to have been living in the bathroom for some time so it’s obviously not being cleaned properly, etc, etc, etc.......

Worst hotel ever!
Upon arrival walking in to the hotel there was an unpleasant smell, when asked for payment for the room I handed over my credit card. After waiting nearly 20 minutes and two failed attempts at trying to take payment the receptionist says "sorry there's no connection to the internet for payment to go through" as I'm looking at the "free WiF"i sign on the wall. We get to the room after following the A4 pc printed signs on the wall stuck with selotape, open the door to a dated room with odd strips of wall paper on the walls to cover rips, the sofa arms are all ripped and the windows have no handles to be opened or locked. The room was warm but this was because the burnt stained radiators had obviously been on all day as they were scorching hot. In the morning I went to the bathroom to shower to find the bathroom infested with wasps, on the floor, in the bath and on the shower curtain rail. When i mentioned this to the girl on the reception upon leaving the response was commical, she said "oh you must of slept with the window open". I would never and will ever recommend this hotel to anyone, what a complete dive!!! P.s tried to upload photos but would not work!

Bargain hotel near to restaurants and pub
OK this place has many bad reviews, building is old and needs updating but what you expect for the price? If people want perfection then pay more, simple. Our room was massive, clean, warm comfortable and the old fashioned furniture adds to the charm. Would definitely stay again. Shower did not work so had a bath. Staff friendly enough

Just don't be too fussy!
I was put in a huge room – a double and a single, which was more than ample for the one of me – but I found the double bed had a damaged base creating an awkward dip in the mattress. The floor was slightly uneven too, and rather creaky. Some light switches didn't work, meaning I had to cross the room in the dark to get into bed, and it took me a while to figure out how to get the heater on. You might wonder why I didn't go and ask for help with any of this, and the answer is simply: stairs. All that said, though, the staff were very pleasant when I met them, and were happy to furnish me with extra complementaries (include coffee that wasn't Nescafe, thank goodness!). Given I was only there for business, I had a comfortable week. I didn't need to eat nearby, but if I'd wanted to my choices would have included major Italian chains and independent takeaways. WiFi was patchy to my phone, but served my laptop well. So all-in-all, a great stay for the money.
