If you want to give your credit card some exercise, head out to Sarinah Mall in Central Jakarta. Splash some more cash at Plaza Indonesia, Tanah Abang Market, and Grand Indonesia.
"I love the hotel for its aesthetic and charm of asian culture and is situated in the center of the city where you can go to Grand indonesia. The staff there were friendly and I appreciate them for welcoming me to stay. I would gladly stay for another night if I could. "
"We enjoyed our stay at this luxury hotel. The buffet breakfast was excellent and there were lunch and dinner buffets if you don't feel like venturing out. The rooms are spacious with amazing views of the city. The beds are overall comfortable and the rooms stay nice and cold. The shower is hot but the water doesn't drain out of the bottom very well. We appreciated the welcome waters and toothbrushes. We needed hand towels and they delivered them promptly. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a convenience store nearby that serves food and drinks. There's a bank nearby and you can walk 15 minutes to a market for food options. We will stay here again."
"This location was once a Dutch company insurance/finance building. The hotel wing in recent construction build with the opulence of a Dutch colonial hotel. Closely resembles, and reminds us of the Singapore Raffles at the height of popularity...only smaller, with impeccably detailed service.
The breakfast menu covers western and continental tastes, but excells with delights from Indonesia. Outstanding.
Lunch and dinner menus ore more limited, but ample for those retreating. Other Indonesia venues are nearby. Don’t miss the bakery and amazing dark chocolate bars topped with fruit and nuts!
A stay here is highly recommended. "
"The hotel and its staff are wonderful! We were walking distance from the two main shopping malls. The area around the hotel is definitely third world, overly populated and lots of vendors, but everyone is super nice!! We felt safe walking to and from the malls and you just have to be aware of your surroundings or you could get run over by a moped or car. The food in the hotel was delicious! "
